Commercial Dog Dealing:

Puppy Farm Awareness Day

Saturday 19th September 2009

This is an important day which aims to raise awareness of the puppy farming issue here in the UK and overseas. Puppy Farm Awareness Day was launched by Puppy Love, Hope UK and Puppy Alert

Puppy Farm Dog-with EDDRCommercial dog dealing continues right now in our own country and is shamefully on the increase as the demand for puppies increase and those breeders who have no regard for the welfare of the dogs in their establishments make easy profits, profits gained from misery.

There are a staggering 90 ‘licensed’ dog breeders in Carmarthenshire (Wales) alone. Puppies are big business as they are churned out to third party dealers and sold via avenues such as internet sites and pet shops, whilst puppy’s parents live a miserable existence confined to a concrete cell to be used solely for breeding ‘cute’ puppies and thousands of dogs continue to end up in shelters unwanted and facing death.

Puppy Farm Awareness Day needs your support, there are several events being organised in he UK, coinciding with Puppy Mill Awareness Day in the USA.
