Home Wanted / South East - June 2008
Sophie 2 year old crossbreed
Spayed, Vaccinated, ID Chipped
Can you help Sophie? She Is a very special girl who spent the first year of her life being overlooked for some odd reason. After an appeal for her went out, the perfect home came up and we were pleased to bits to settle her in to her new home in the south. However her owner has just been diagnosied with a medical condition and will need treatment for an unknown period of time, leaving her unable to care for Sophie anymore.
Almost one year ago, at the tender age of just five weeks old, Sophie and her littermates were handed over to rescue. They were said to be a deliberate crossbreeding, Stafford with American bulldog. All five of the litter went into foster care, had vet checks, vaccinations and chipped. Soon they were ready for new homes.
Sophie attended training classes and passed her KC Good Citizen bronze.
Sophie is good on lead and will walk with you for miles if you want too, equally she's happy to sit by your side in front of the TV. Sophie does have huge potential for agility or obedience. She is a very clever dog who will do anything for a treat. She is always waiting for you to give her something to do and with the right training we're convinced she is a star in the making.
Despite her breeding she is not a big dog. She weighs in at 17kg is under knee height with a lab-like build. She doesn't have the muscular build of a bull breed, simply the colour and head shape, though her head is small.
Sophie is playful with other dogs and enjoys the interaction, she recently had a great time playing with the rescue dogs at the behavioural centre with Dr. Roger Mugford.
Currently in a foster home under the care of EDDR, Sophie will make a fantastic companion.
All she's missing is a forever home - can you help her find the happy ending?

Update January 2008 - Bluebell has now found a lovely new home !
Home Needed - December 2007 - Bluebell - American Bulldog bitch
Bluebell - American Bulldog bitch, (currently fostered in the south east)
Bluebell was taken in by EDDR from a scrapyard. She seems to have been passed around through various owners and was in poor condition. Following several weeks TLC, medication and assessment, Bluebell is now ready for a new home of her own.
Bluebell has been veterinary checked, wormed, de-flead, id chipped, vaccinated and spayed by EDDR. She is approximately five years of age, confident around people and thriving on human company. She is looking for a home with someone who has experience, Bluebell enjoys the company of other dogs and has been introduced to both male, female, small and larger dogs, she was very well behaved at the grooming parlour (she thinks baths are fantastic fun) where she became friends with a Greyhound male, she is full on with other dogs wanting to play-which isn't always appreciated by the other dog, but has been learing how to better communicate with the help of her doggie companions. Blubell loves the vet! She also travels very well in the car and does find a car ride a great treat. She is now walking nicely on the lead, used to traffic/built up areas, has her appetite back and has been steadily gaining weight.
Due to her size and enthusiam Bluebell would be suited to a child free home (teenagers or older), living with another dog(s) will depend on successful introductions first.

Good Home Wanted:
Special Needs - 'Drift' 2yrs
English Bull Terrier cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier with special needs - Drift is deaf

Drift is almost 2yrs old and a English Bull Terrier x Staffie, he is castrated and microchipped, he is looking for a new forever home.
Drift came into rescue after running into a works to escape a busy main road and had an injury to his leg, he is a loving character always amusing and ready to please, he has loads of energy and loves to play.
Drift lives in a silent world so needs someone special who can understand his needs which in the main are the same as for a hearing dog except you cannot call him back if he cannot see you a consideration for safety as you can understand he cannot hear the noises that warn the rest of us of danger so a new owner would have to be extra careful none the less he is a charming little fellow who deserves a break, further details from Rescue
