Update:11th June - Brandy and Karma are no longer in kennels and are now in foster homes. They are doing very well in a home environement.

Permanent or Foster Home Needed - May 2010

American Bulldog bitch, 2 years

Karma is a 2 year old American Bulldog girl who has not had the best start in life. She was seized by police at a few months of age accused of being an illegal pit bull type. She was held in secluded kennels for 18 months before the courts declared her to be a legal breed and ordered her to be returned home. Sadly her owner could no longer have dogs at his property and Karma came into our care.http://images.dogsblog.com/resized/80a1ad0499cd9cfd41f950b5016aef48.JPG

Despite the length of time Karma spent in kennels her temperament is fantastic. She is a very loving girl who LOVES to have a tummy rubbed. She is fantastic with people and children although we would be looking for a home with children in school full time.

Karma walks brilliantly on a lead and does not pull. She is very eager to please and as such is quick to learn. She sits on command and we except her to pick up more training very easily. Karma would make a fantastic obedience dog and quite probably a PAT dog due to her calm loving nature.

Karma is not phased by other dogs but is very much a people dog and would be happiest in a home with no other dogs so she can be sure to get all the tummy rubs going! We have not cat tested Karma and would be looking for a home with no other animals.

Karma would need home a home with a large enclosed garden (6ft fencing). Due to the time she has spent in kennels she will need to be treated as if she is a puppy; she will need house training and to be introduced slowly to everyday things such as traffic and towns etc. She will need someone at home for most of the day to help her quickly become the fantastic loving family dog we know she will be.

Karma is fully vaccinated and will be micro-chipped. She is not spayed at present but this will need to be done when the time is right (on our veterinary advice) and the rescue will cover the cost of this. This is a term of the adoption written agreement and will be followed up!

Karma is currently in West Sussex and all potential owners will be expected to travel to meet her. All homes will be home checked and an adoption fee will be required. For more information on Karma or to register an interest please email mail@dangerousdogsact.co.uk or contact us.

Permanent or Foster Home Needed - May 2010

American Bulldog bitch, 2 years

Despite the length of time Brandy spent in kennels her temperament is fantastic. She is a very loving playful girl who is making up for her lost puppy hood in kennels. She is fantastic with people and children although we would be looking for a home with children in school full time, ideally teenagers.

Brandy walks brilliantly on a lead and does not pull. She is very eager to please and has a lot of energy. Brandy would make a fantastic agility dog to someone willing to train her in the sport.

Brandy is not phased by other dogs and loves to play with them. However due to her bouncy nature we feel she would be happiest in a home as an only dog but one in which she could regularly play with suitable dog.

We have not cat tested Brandy and would be looking for a home with no other animals.

Brandy would need home a home with a large enclosed garden with at least 6ft fencing. Due to the time she has spent in kennels she will need to be treated as if she is a puppy, she will need house training and to be introduced slowly to everyday things such as traffic and towns etc.

She will need someone at home for most of the day to help her quickly become the fantastic loving family dog we know she will be. Brandy does jump up and still mouths although very gently and these will need to continue to be worked with.

Brandy is fully vaccinated and will be micro-chipped. She is not spayed at present but this will need to be done when the time is right (on our veterinary advice) and the rescue will cover the cost of this. This is a term of the adoption agreement and will be followed up!

Brandy is currently in west sussex and all potential owners will be expected to travel to meet her. All homes will be home checked and an adoption fee will be required.

Found - April 2010:

Black brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier male

He was found by chance tied to a tree with rope in west London, in an empty field at 7am. Approx. 1-2 years, white on chest, entire (not neutered), not micro-chipped, no tattoo, no collar. Very friendly and in relatively good condition apart from a sore throat from the rope.

Registered as found with the local authority dog warden and Battersea Dogs Home, posters put up, local vets rang, local dog walkers have not seen him before in the area. So far no one has come forward.

Currently under the care of EDDR, please contact us for further information.

He is in kennels under the care of EDDR, large sized AB, very people friendly-wants to say hello to everyone he meets, not introduced to cats, previously lived with a Rottweiler bitch, not known to be destructive indoors when left, not overly interested in other dogs when out.

Tye is looking for a large dog experienced foster home, he loves his home comforts and a warm blanket, further details from EDDR.
