Update May - Jackson is staying in his foster home for now, he has developed a skin condition and is currently undergoing veterinary treatment.
Jackson Update April: Jackson's sisters have settled in well in their new home - he is still waiting on a home of his own.
Jackson has been veterinary health checked, Micro chipped and is now crate trained and reasonably clean in the house. He is lead trained however due to his background he is still learning not to bounce around on the end of a lead in excitement! Jackson is good with people and dogs but requires ongoing socialisation with dogs.
Jackson has taken time to understand the joys of human company and needs a home where his main “person” will be at home with him for most of the day in order to establish a good bond. Once that bond is established Jackson becomes an attentive loving pup who will do well at obedience or even agility. He is not used to cats or small furries.
Home Wanted - South/South East- March 2009
Jackson - American Bulldog X 5 Months
Jackson is an American bulldog cross who came into rescue via the police. Along with his sisters he spent his first 14 weeks in kennels but is now able to be rehomed. While in kennels care has been taken to socialise with dogs, people and children and Jackson loves human and canine company.
Jackson has been ill and is slightly underweight at the moment however is ready to move onto a new home.
Jackson is fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough. He is wormed, flea treated and will be mircochipped prior to rehoming. Jackson MUST be neutered when old enough and this will be checked to ensure it has been carried out.
The right home for Jackson would be a family with someone at home most of the day. While good with children due to his boisterous nature, we would prefer a home with children in full time school. Homes must be bull breed or large breed experienced and must have a secure 6 foot fenced garden. We do not rehome bull breeds to homes with another dog of the same sex but Jackson would probably enjoy the company of a neutered bitch.
Potential owners must attend training classes with him.
Jackson is being toilet trained and lead trained. While these will be worked on as with any new puppy his new owners will have to continue with training.
Jackson is currently in foster care in Sussex and preference will be given to homes in the south.
All homes will be home checked, adoption is subject to written agreement and a donation will be asked for.
If wishing to offer Jackson a home please email bullbreedcentral@aol.com for a pre home form.

Update February 2009 - Sophie has now gone to a lovely new home of her own in Berkshire.
Update December-Sophie is now able to be re-homed and is back looking for that special someone! She has been treated over the last three months for lungworm as a precaution after one of our dogs was diagnosed with it and was not able to be re-homed during this time.
Home Wanted / South, South East
Sophie 2 year old crossbreed
Spayed, Vaccinated, ID Chipped
Can you help Sophie? She Is a very special girl who spent the first year of her life being overlooked for some odd reason. After an appeal for her went out, the perfect home came up and we were pleased to bits to settle her in to her new home in the south. However her owner has just been diagnosed with a medical condition and will need treatment for an unknown period of time, leaving her unable to care for Sophie anymore.
Almost one year ago, at the tender age of just five weeks old, Sophie and her littermates were handed over to rescue. They were said to be a deliberate crossbreeding, Stafford with American bulldog. All five of the litter went into foster care, had vet checks, vaccinations and chipped. Soon they were ready for new homes.
Sophie attended training classes and passed her KC Good Citizen bronze.
Sophie is good on lead and will walk with you for miles if you want too, equally she's happy to sit by your side in front of the TV. Sophie does have huge potential for agility or obedience. She is a very clever dog who will do anything for a treat. She is always waiting for you to give her something to do and with the right training we're convinced she is a star in the making.
Despite her breeding she is not a big dog. She weighs in at 17kg is under knee height with a lab-like build. She doesn't have the muscular build of a bull breed, simply the colour and head shape, though her head is small.
Sophie is playful with other dogs and enjoys the interaction, she recently had a great time playing with the rescue dogs at the behavioural centre with Dr. Roger Mugford.
Sophie isn't used to living with cats.
Currently in a foster home under the care of EDDR, Sophie will make a fantastic companion.
All she's missing is a forever home - can you help her find the happy ending?

Update January 2009 - Ruben is now staying with his foster family as he has settled in so well there, good news for Ruben.
Home Wanted - Ruben approx 5 years, male Boxer cross:
Ruben is an older gentleman who has been rescued and taken in by the East Galway Animal Rescue (EGAR), Ireland’s only Bull Breed Rescue based in Southern Ireland.
EGAR lost their long term premises earlier this year and are currently in the exhausting process of re-locating. They have had to reduce their number of animals whilst new premises with facilities for all their rescued animals, including many cruelty and neglect cases, are being organised. Without EGAR many dogs, especially bull breeds, simply have no where to go for help.
Ruben is one of the EGAR dogs who has come over to the UK for re-homing and is currently in a foster home in North Wales
Sadly and unbelievably he has spent over four years in kennels over looked by every one but has adapted and settled in his new foster home environment; still choosing on sunny days to take his blankets outside and sunbath but is happiest when he’s snoozing along side you.
Ruben has been neutered, fully vaccinated, fully wormed and will be ID Chipped prior to re-homing .
Ruben is a charming dog; he is full of life and loves nothing more than a long walk then to curl up at the end of day on a comfy bed by your side. He will make a fantastic companion.
Ruben will need a larger dog experienced home where his owners will carry on with basic training; this is relatively straightforward and fun as he is food orientated, eager and learns quickly.
He is quite a large strong dog and has a tendency to be clumsy, Ruben has never lived with children and for these reasons will only be considered for adoption to homes with children 16yrs plus. Preferably Ruben will be re-homed as an only dog but consideration will be given to re-homing with a bitch depending on temperament and successful introductions. Ruben can not live with cats.
He is house trained, crate trained, hasn’t been destructive when left for short periods of time and travels well.
Ruben enjoys human company, walks and as you can see from his photo-a comfy bed! After so many years in rescue he really deserves a home of his own, he has lots of love to give - can you offer this beautiful overlooked dog a second chance?
All potential homes are vetted and visited, adoption is subject to written agreement with EGAR, full UK rescue back-up is provided.
