Information, Education & Advice - helping dogs in need

2

Aims & Objectives:

The Endangered Dogs Defence & Rescue (EDDR) is a voluntary run organisation which offers free information, education and advice to help, defend and better protect all dogs in need.

EDDR campaigns, raises awareness and offers support on canine welfare issues.

We promote responsible dog ownership.

We give advice concerning dog related legal matters and legislation affecting dogs.

The Objects for which the EDDR is established include:

paws To endorse and encourage responsible dog ownership.

paws To provide a voice for speechless dogs.

paws To seek the truth, provide and distribute information in defence of any breed or individual dog EDDR feels is unjustly victimised and/or unfairly discriminated against.

paws To help, assist and advise dog owners with canine related problems.

paws To operate a rescue service for any dog the EDDR feels has special needs. To collect, transport, protect, provide adequate care for and re-home where possible. If possible to find new keepers for dogs registered under the DDA and no longer able to stay with their owners.

paws To lobby and provide information to politicians, other organisations and individuals in the UK and overseas in relation to existing legislation, proposed legislation, rules or regulations affecting dogs and their owners.

paws To oppose, contest and campaign for repeal or amendments to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (DDA) and any other legislation which EDDR feels unfairly restricts the rights of responsible dog owners in the United Kingdom and/or overseas.

paws To support, assist and defend dogs and/or their owners who are subject to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, Dogs Act Amendment 1997, or who may be subject to complaints, discrimination and/or legal action arising due to the DDA, other legislation or situations.

paws To take legal or other lawful action against any person who has caused cruelty to any dog.

paws To increase support and awareness of the EDDR and its aims.
