In Loving Memory – Tara
![]() |
How does one begin to express our feelings about our most treasured friend who gave us so much pleasure and joy by just being there. We knew from the very first day when Tara came into our lives she was something special and a fun dog from the word go. We have had other dogs before Tara and loved each and every one very much. Our last two dogs were Dobermans, wonderful dogs in every way; it was very painful when our last Doby died at the age of 11 yrs. Then came along Tara as happy as a lark, full of fun, wagging her tail from morning till night. Tara was our pride and joy. |
We are still missing Tara and all her lovely little ways and things she used to do. If I was talking to someone she would creep up behind me and take my hanky from my pocket and run of with it to get my attention. Every evening whilst having dinner Tara would come and lay by my side on her bed not moving a muscle until she heard my knife and fork lay down on my plate, she would then pop up and give me a kiss on my cheek looking so charming and pleased with herself, as she knew it was time for her tit-bits; her dad would save for her every meal time everyday of her life.
Every night before we went to bed Tara would ask to go into the garden and do her rounds. Whilst she was there her Dad would go and find somewhere in the house to hide, as soon as Tara came in she was off like a shot looking for him. It never took more than a few seconds to find her Dad. She loved our little game, she got so excited and pleased with herself.
During every night without fail, Tara would come into our bedroom 3-5 times to see how we were and for us to go and tuck her in bed with her blanket, snug and warm, she would always give a lovely little sigh of contentment.
As ill as poor Tara became she was always by my side, that’s how loyal Tara was, a more gentle and placid dog you would never find.
Tara has now been laid to rest. God Bless Her by the side of the summer house where she spent a lot of her time with us in the summer months.
