Section One of the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA) 1991, as amended in June 1997, is known as breed specific legislation as it relates to specific breeds or 'types' of dog.

The legislation has resulted in the deaths of thousands of dogs and much suffering, both human and canine, since its introduction in 1991.

We believe, as do many others, that the law is unworkable, unjust and does not protect the public as the real root of the problem is irresponsible and uneducated dog owners and dog breeders.

For full details concerning the draconian law, the latest and archived news articles, views and statements please visit our Dangerous Dogs Act-BSL section here.
